El dia de los muertos (The day of the dead), Lima Perú
During the day of the dead the cemetery of Nueva Esperanza in Lima receives thousands of visitors who come to honor their departed ones. They do it by bringing them their favorite food, playing their favorite music and sharing liquor with them. This tradition dates back to pre-catholic era in Peru. The Incas for instance honored their ancestors by displaying their mummies in prominent places and by sharing food and liquor with them.
